The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a junior lawyer, or law graduate, to join our expanding Commercial/Local Government Team.

You will have opportunities to develop various skills needed to grow into a well-rounded legal practitioner. Those skills include drafting, legal analysis, advocacy, client management, file management, and business development.

The role would suit someone with a positive, enthusiastic outlook who is keen to work on a wide range of matters under the supervision of more senior lawyers. This opportunity allows for someone who is capable and ambitious to progress into a leadership position in the firm in the longer term.

We are looking for someone who is well-organised and has clear written and verbal communication skills, a strong academic background (Distinction average) and some experience in a commercial law firm.

The Team

We advise clients on a broad range of matters, including:

  • Contract reviews and drafting
  • Employment Law
  • Local Government Law
  • Dispute Resolution
  • Property & Planning
  • Leasing
  • Construction law
  • Native Title
  • Strata and Community Titles
  • Probate.

We litigate in the superior courts and tribunals such as the State Administrative Tribunal, the Fair Work Commission, and the WA Industrial Magistrates Court.

You would receive training and support and become a valuable member of our close-knit team.

Key responsibilities

You will undertake legal research and draft advice, correspondence and documents on a wide range of matters, supervised by senior lawyers.

You would be assisting with pro bono matters, including the opportunity of being seconded to a Community Legal Centre or similar organisation.
