The Privacy Act 1998 was amended to introduce “National Privacy Principles”
which came into effect in Australia on 21 December 2001.
The Act imposes new regulations for the collection of personal information, the
use and disclosure of personal information and other matters including data
quality, data security, openness access and correction.
Civic Legal collects the contact details of our clients as well as the
contact details of other people with whom we conduct business. We collect this
information in order to provide professional legal services or for the business
a purpose for which it is collected. Any client of Civic Legal may
request personal information which we hold relating to that client by contacting
us during normal business hours.
